July Spendings 767.98

Finance Review: July 2020

I know, the last few posts have only been mundane end-of-month finance reviews but there really hasn’t been a lot, it’s covid season 🤷🏻

But! Watch out for this month’s posts! There’s a family trip, my birthday, another finance review (lol), and some resources based on feedback from all one (1) of my regular readers.

This post is a little late because I procrastinated too long and ended up leaving for the said above trip before I could finish it 🙂

Anyways, on to the fun details!

Spendings Report: $768

Two big deviations this month

  • I bought a drawing tablet display for $361, the largest single object purchase since I started this blog. It made up 84% of my leisure spending and 47% of my total.
  • My clothing spendings were wild this month, more than the last 4 months combined!

About the clothes, guys, I tried 4 times to engage in retail therapy to buy some new shirts for the trip. I finally did succeed on the 4th try and bought 3 shirts and two pairs of shorts/pants. It worked out to be about $24/item.

I will be attempting to engage in retail therapy again this month for some quality of life upgrades. Do I need to buy these things? Nope. Do I want to? Yes. Can I afford them? Very obviously, yes. Wish me luck.

Net Worth Update: $111,076

Soon this chart will have 2 years worth of data points on it, how time flies!

What will I do with this money? I have no idea. But once I figure it out I will have the means and resources to do so.

Visiting my family in southern China near where I grew up has made me (even) more aware of my privilege. It is my hope that this blog does not come across as me flexing and instead just serves as a record of my progress/thoughts.

If you have any feedback or suggestions for me I would love to hear them!
