Spendings Report: $3, 964
It’s been a month of high spending, some of the top contenders:
- A trip to Barcelona and Istanbul. Barcelona was not overly expensive but Istanbul was $$$.
- A dedicated travel backpack from Tropic Feel. I love it so much it has absolutely changed how I pack, unpack, and go through security. I don’t get any money for linking them I just really like it. The one I got is small enough that it looks like and works well as a regular backpack, especially great for people who need space to pack a set of workout clothes.
- Even more laser hair removal. I wanna be smooth and slippery by the time 2025 hits, just eluding the grasp of my responsibilities.
- I bought some clothing made by a local artist because I liked their design.
- Haircut, facial, manicure, pedicure, and massage. It was much too expensive to do those in Toronto so I waited until I was back in Beijing and did all of it at once, resulting in this big spike in spending.
I’m happy that school has started again, it feels incredibly good to be back in a routine. The holidays are always enjoyable but it’s nice to return to a place where I don’t need my pone to navigate around. Always about 3 weeks into summer vacation, I start to feel restless and bored, I need the anchor of a predictable schedule. Probably tells me I need something to retire to and not just have unstructured free time.

It’s nice to know I’m at CoastFI, even if I spend every penny from my paycheck I can afford to retire (not at my current lifestyle, mind you). I won’t do that, it’s just a comforting thought. This month’s review isn’t a long one, it’s pretty expected given that I was on vacation for much of it and had electronic replacement expenses.
