Finance Review: April 2023

I’VE SUBMITTED THE LAST ASSIGNMENT!

Now to nervously await the confirmation of my graduation, I have double, triple, quadruple checked all the things I need to do but I have this nightmare vision that I’m going to find out I failed to hand in a form or complete one last quiz or something. I don’t actually know what I’d do if it turns out I cannot graduate yet, likely scream and have one intense cry before resigning myself to one more semester.

Spendings Report: $2,485

The savings rate is back up! I took on some extra duties to boost my income because I wanted to buy some nice things for finishing all the work but still wanted to save money haha. I now have the time to do things for extra income which I’m excited for.

I did more wardrobe upgrades, a few pricier quality pieces that I know I’ll love and use for many years. The most expensive item is a black bag that’s replacing one that’s 7-years old. I’m also keeping the old one, it’ll serve another 7 years hopefully as an overnight bag.

Net Worth Update: met my 5-year goal a year ahead of time!

4 years ago today I wrote a document called “5 Year Plan” and I’m happy to report that I’ve met my financial goal from the document! Over the next year I’ll be working on the other items such as improving my Mandarin fluency and getting better at doing contest-style math problems.

I’ll have more time as well to write a separate post about that document and show you guys what 4-years-younger-me thought I should work towards.

Take care out there, and for those of you in China, enjoy your May Holiday!
